The national key research and development plan has been approved
On March 25, 2022, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a video conference on project performance evaluation (namely, "Project acceptance meeting") to investigate the national Key R&D Plan project "Industrial Demonstration Application of Laser Enhanced Technology in Aerospace and Rail Transit" led by Tyrida.
This project was founded in 2016, Tyrida, as the project leader and team leader of Task 2 subject to this total project, conducted a positive performance in last 5 years.
In Tyrida's four-in-one research system of "technology foundation, equipment research and development, process optimization, demonstration application" of laser intensification project, Tyrida is responsible for the research and development of complete sets of high performance and high reliability laser shock peening equipment, providing key equipment foundation for industrial demonstration application of the project, and realizing large-scale industrial demonstration application.
LSP technology is the most advanced surface modification technology of metal materials in the world, and is rated as one of the 100 most important advanced technologies in the United States. It is one of the key technologies to solve the fatigue problem of aviation equipment in the United States Army. In 2022, the Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) reportedly completed the first LSP processing of an F-35B aircraft. Through inspection, analysis, demonstration and testing, the aircraft was confirmed to meet system level requirements. The fatigue life of the aircraft's structural components after LSP reinforcement was 2.5 times longer than the original design life. The U.S. Navy subsequently approved the LSP process for F-35 life-extension maintenance.
In last 15 years, Tyrida has led the LSP development in China and changed the global LSP industry structure.
